Price Match
We recognize that there are many discounts in the bike industry as we all try to recover from the supply chain issues from the pandemic. While we are not discount dealers and we pride ourselves on providing high-quality products and services at fair prices, we appreciate the opportunity to earn your business and stay competitive in an ever-changing market. We will price-match product from trekbikes.com, giant-bicycles.com, and liv-cycling.com. While we are not Specialized or Cannondale dealers, we will attempt to price-match for comparable product. Contact us with questions.
Price match must occur at time of purchase.
Trade in
Fond du Lac Cyclery will evaluate trade-ins on a case-by-case basis. Generally, we do not accept department store or direct to consumer bikes on trade-in as they were not professionally assembled. BicycleBlueBook.com value guide is used to give a ball-park estimate of trade in values. Trade-ins will not be considered for bikes with missing or obstructed serial numbers.
Discounts
As a small business and responsible employer, we do our best to maintain fair pricing on our product and transparently label our product. Unless a promotion mentions otherwise, the list price is the price.
We do offer a 10% discount for the following groups with ID: Military, EMS, Fire, Police.
Service Warranty
While we strive for the highest quality bicycle service, we are human and may make mistakes. If you are not satisfied with the bicycle service you received*, bring the bike back within 2 weeks and we will remedy the issue at no cost.
*if an issue arises within 2 weeks that was not related to the bicycle service received or is due to regular wear and tear (i.e. a flat tire from running over a sharp object), we will remedy the issue at standard cost.
Abandoned Property
All items not picked up within 90 days will be subject to Wisconsin Abandoned Property Law and will become the property of Fond du Lac Cyclery. Any payment will be forfeited. We will work in good faith to ensure that customers are provided sufficient reminders prior to the end of the 90 day period.
A $3/day storage fee will be assessed for items not picked up within 3 days of notification of completion of service unless alternate arrangements have been made in advance.
Participation in Group Rides and Events
Our goal is to make group rides and events as enjoyable and inclusive as possible. While we generally adopt an “all are welcome” stance, we reserve the right to exclude individuals from rides and events. Reasons why an individual may be excluded from rides and events include but are not limited to: inappropriate, aggressive, threatening, or discriminating behavior, reckless or dangerous riding practices, failure to follow the rules of the ride, failure to wear proper protective equipment, failure to complete the waiver. We will make clear in all event descriptions the level of difficulty for the ride, level of support provided, and distance of the ride so riders can choose an event that matches their interests and abilities.

E-Bike Service
🚲 E-Bike Service Policy
Prioritizing the safety of our shop, our staff, our customers, and our neighbors
At Fond du Lac Cyclery, we’re excited to see more people enjoying the freedom and fun of electric bikes. As a small, safety-conscious shop, we want to be as helpful as possible — while also being honest about the kinds of service we can safely provide.
This policy outlines which e-bikes we can service, the types of work we perform, and the safety standards we uphold.
✅ E-Bikes We Service
We are happy to provide full service for e-bikes that meet the following criteria:
- Manufactured by brands we sell or have established service support for including Trek, Electra, Giant, Liv, Momentum, Terra Trike, and Sun.
- Equipped with certified motor systems that we have dealer access to including Bosch, Hyena, Shimano, Fazua, TQ, Sram, and Yamaha

We offer basic mechanical services for other e-bikes if they have a UL-listed system, including:
- Flat tire repair / tube and tire replacement
- Brake and shifting adjustments
- Chain replacements
- Accessory installation (racks, lights, fenders, etc.)
⚠️ Some e-bikes use proprietary or unavailable parts. In those cases, we will recommend using a non-proprietary replacement or refer you to another service provider.
🚫 E-Bikes We Cannot Service
For safety and liability reasons, we do not service:
- E-bikes with non-UL-listed systems
- E-bike conversion kits*
- Electric scooters or motorcycles
- Gas-powered bicycles
- E-bikes with unknown or unsupported electronics

🧰 Safety First — Always
Every e-bike is inspected before service. We reserve the right to decline or limit service if we believe the bike poses a safety risk to the rider, our staff, or the community.
🤝 Not Sure if We Can Help?
No problem. Bring your e-bike in or give us a call. We’re always honest about what we can and can’t do — and we’ll do our best to point you in the right direction if we’re not the right shop for the job. As new e-bike brands pop up all the time, we may need time to assess our ability to work on your e-bike.

Let’s keep the e-bike movement rolling — responsibly.
Pricing Fluctuations (Tariffs), Backorders, and Special Order Shipping as of 4/25/2025
At Fond du Lac Cyclery, we pride ourselves on being your friendly neighborhood bike shop—where service, honesty, and quality come first. Because we’re a small, independent shop, we want to be as transparent as possible about something that’s been impacting our entire industry: pricing uncertainty due to ongoing tariffs and supplier changes.
Why Prices Sometimes Change:
Many of our vendors now charge the final price at the time of shipping, not when we place the order. That means even after we’ve ordered your gear, the cost to us might go up before it arrives. As much as we’d love to absorb these increases for you, we simply aren’t big enough to make that sustainable and keep our doors open.
Our Policy for Backordered Items:
- You’re welcome to place a 50% down payment at the time of your order (our standard backorder policy). However, if the vendor raises their price before the item ships, your final price will reflect that change—and you’ll be responsible for covering the difference upon arrival.
- If the price increase is greater than 10% of the expected cost, we will call to confirm that the item is still wanted and the customer will have 24 hours to decline the order or will be responsible for full payment.
- Want a little more certainty on your final price? No problem! If you pay in full at the time of order, we’ll split the cost difference with you – lowering your risk.
Our Policy for Shipping Costs on Special Order Bikes
We will continue to work with you to ensure you find the bike of your dreams. If we do not have your dream bike in stock, but are able to order it in – we will do so. We do not charge build fees for these bikes, but we do need to start passing on a portion of the shipping costs to you. The rate will be based on the distribution center and whether the bike is an e-bike or not.
| Distribution Center | Non-Electric Bikes/Trikes | Electric Bikes/Trikes |
| Trek WDC | $30 | $40 |
| Trek NDC | $35 | $45 |
| Trek CDC | $45 | $50 |
| Giant Bikes | $30 | $45 |
| JBI MN | $30 | $50 |
| JBI all other | $40 | $70 |
We truly appreciate your support and understanding as we navigate these challenges. Thanks for continuing to shop small and ride local. We’re always here to answer any questions—stop by anytime!
